While city detectives scramble to locate him, Dr Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is kidnapped by Amanda and taken to a warehouse where she meets Jigsaw, aka John Kramer (Tobin Bell). However, Kramer is on his deathbed. Lynn is forced to keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete another deadly game.
If you are a fan of the gory versions of horror, this will be an iconic essential. Technically the film is admirable; the film holds up well as an ever-moving, ever-engrossing experience. The set up is glorious with all the elements coming together for the big show. Saw III has the strongest acting to date, out of all the Saw movies. Tobin Bell is extremely compelling as Jigsaw, while Shawnee Smith is at her hottest and most dangerous in Saw III.
There’s always some crazy trap in the next room or some subtle motivation behind Jigsaw’s methods. Saw III is a film that keeps its promise and fulfils expectations, reconfirming that horror is indeed back. |
